Chris & Rihanna Rumour

Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies stemming from what a police detective describes as a brutal argument between the singer and Rihanna, provoked by her discovery of a text message from another woman.

On another note, rumours from sources close to Rihanna have revealed that not only is she back with Chris Brown, but the two secretly married at P. Diddy's Miami home.

Am i the only one that thinks this is completely ridiculous...

Montreal Fashion Week

Wednesday March 4th, I attended the Ralph Leroy and Myco Anna show. It was my first time at a Fashion show. I am not a fashion show expert however I thought the show was really great. Sylvie Desbois our event planning teacher got us the tickets and told us where to go. As we walked in I noticed where the "pit" was for the photographers which was exactly where it was supposed to be! We made our way in and we were able to be seated; more or less at the center of it all so we had a good view of everthing.
-Starting off with Ralph Leroy at 6pm, I really liked his introduction on the projection screen; I found it caught everyone's attention and was intense and once that was finished the 1st model came out. The music as well was good obviously followed the theme. The colors in the collection were very Flashy and lively. I noticed there were many accessories; hats, bags, necklaces, gloves, etc...
-Once the show was finished everyone had to leave and we went in the cocktail room. It was nicely decorated and gave off a comfy mood; which was good because I found it made people want to have a drink and talk about the show. They were giving out many product samples and magazines; again I don't know if that usually happens but that was a good idea and cool for us! lol
-The second show Myco Anna at 7pm, I really enjoyed and this was my favorite out of the two.
I found the collection was really funky and they had beautiful clothes. There were many different colors and patterns for example, one outfit had different tones of purple and it was all put into one outfit, same for the reds, blues, greens! It didn't look mismatched; it looked fabulous! I found the music was better in this show and the models didn't seem as "tense" as some of the men did; they had that right attitude and confidence. The hairstyles were nice as well, many braides with accessories in them which were matching with the outfits!
Overall, it was a great show & experience, I had a lot of fun and will definetely go to the show next year!

Jaga Jazzist

I think everyone should check out a band that I really enjoy. They are called Jaga Jazzist and they are an experimental / instrumental jazz group from Norway. I think they would be useful for a fashion show if needed.

Vicky Christina Barcelona

I spent the whole weekend watching movies and 'Vicky Christina Barcelona' was by far my favourite. I'm traveling to Barcelona this summer with my best friend and this movie made me VERY excited! My boyfriend wasn't very happy about it though lol (watch the movie and you'll understand why :))

Here's a bit of the plot : Two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture.

Scarlett Johansson was amazing (what's new!) and you can't get any sexier than Javier Bardem and last but not least, Penélope Cruz. She's brilliant.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G MOVIE! I highly recommend it :)

plus size line by Simpson

We've all seen Jessica Simpson recently in magazines, critics have pulled out their claws to the once sexy Daisy Duke. Jessica has been critized for looking more curvy than usual and that doesn't seem to bother her, because she just announced that she plans to design a clothing line for full figured women.

Now I ask myself, are all those unflattering photos of Jessica a marketing strategy for her new line? She told In Style (march issue) that now she knows how difficult it is to find hot clothes in the plus size section and that she wants to remedy the situation.

We all know Jessica Simpson is also one of the celebrities with the worst taste in fashion, so I think its really funny that she wants to create a plus size line eventhough shes been critized for her body shape and for her awful selection of outfits.

Maybe she wants to be an inspiration for full shape women, or maybe she just wants to justify her "eating her problems" and not working out.

Anyways I think that women with full shape bodies should have a more classy and sofisticated inspiration like Melissa "Emme" Aronson, Crystal Renn or even the winner of ANTM Whitney Thompson.

March Madness

Well, I was speaking with my cousin last weekend. The month of March is coming up and it’s an expensive month for my family. I have fourteen birthdays to celebrate within the family. Ten years ago, we use to celebrate everyone’s birthday at the end of the month but then we stop doing this, why? I don’t recall if the person that used to organize these parties became too busy to coordinate them as time passed on, so I’ve placed myself in charge of planning this celebration at the end of the month of March. I’m planning on including theme colors, decorations, games, DJ with dancing and karaoke challenges. I will be making a birthday album to savor the memories and I’ll be looking forward to coordinating this party which I’ll be dedicating to a former family member that pass away three years ago. Her birthday was on March 10. Why call it March madness? My family is full of energy and very excitable when we get together. We tend to let ourselves go and live in the moment so we can party until our hearts content. This event is going to be a wonderful way to get my large family in one area and I will be planning it on behalf of my Cousin Maureen that we have all missed dearly. March 28/2009 here I come!!!

Rhianna

I love Rhianna and her music, I just find it so sad that Chris Brown would do something that terrible to someone else. Its not good at all for his career, nor is it going to send a good message to all of Rhiannas fans if she decides to still stay with Chris after this incident. I have no idea what anyone of their status/wealth would ever have to argue about getting to the point of brutally beating Rhianna up but I guess the saying is true, "Money can't buy happiness." When I have the time I might read a Gossip Magazine, and its surprising how much the stars of Hollywood are unhappy, and miserable.

Outre-mer

Truman Capote

"I can see every monster as they come in."
-Truman Capote
I'm currently at work and I couldn't think of ANYTHING to blog about (because I am soooo freaken tired!) so I decided to write about my favourite author, Truman Capote. He wrote such classics as 'In Cold Blood', 'Other Voices, Other Rooms' and my ALL TIME favourite 'Breakfast At Tiffany's.' Whoever hasn't read this book I order you to right away! lol. I'll even lend it to you if you want :) That's how good it is!
This is just a little about this amazing author. Truman Capote was born in New Orleans September 30, 1924 and died August 25, 1984. He was a Southern Gothic novelist, journalist and a celebrated man-about-town.
Also, there is a movie about him called 'CAPOTE.' :) It's SO good!

Let it Rock!!

Ok so I couldnt sleep tonight because I was thinking of ideas for our fashion show..
For the past few months one of the biggest entertainment stars has been Lil Wayne, along with other rappers and what I have noticed is the biggest trend among them is their rock/ hip hop style.

I was thinking that for our fashion show we could do a Hip Hop meets rock fashion show. Like have the new urban style of the scarfs, chains on the jeans, fitted jeans for guys, ripped jeans etc. We could have both men and women, the background could be a brick wall with spray paint. Basically combining the ideas of independence, originality, creativeness etc. ( The ideas from the hellz bellz and the boy George fashion show). There could be breakdancers and or female Hip Hop dancers during the show or in intermission.

Pretty much the style and clothing would come from the ideas of how the worlds biggest stars these days are dressing and the way the youth today are finding their own originality in this world. Ex: Lil wayne, Jay Z, Pharell, Travis Barker, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus etc.

Well its just an idea....

We have the right to make mistakes

everything tells me that I am about to make a wrong decision, but making mistakes is just part of life. What does the world want of me? Does it want me to take no risks, to go back where I came from because I didn't have the courage to say "YES" to life ?
I've realised that sometimes you get no second chance and that it's best to accept the gifts the world offers you.
The little experience of life I've had has taught me that no one owns anything, that everything is an illusion and that applies to materiel as well as spiritual things. Anyone who has lost something they thought was theirs forever (as has happened often enough to me already) finally comes to realize that nothing belongs to them.
And if nothing belongs to me, then there's no point wasting my time looking after things that aren't mine, it's best to live as if today were the first (or last) day of my life.

The Club Kids

They were New York Legends. They pushed fashion to the limit. They partied like no other. They were the Club Kids. The group was led by Michael Alig and James St. James in the late '80s to early '90s. It consisted of a crew which was infamous for their outrageous outfits and extensive drug use who were hired by clubs to make appearances. Some of the CK included Heatherette designer Richie Rich and American icon Amanda Lepore. A movie was made in 2003 called,"Party Monster", starring McCauley Calkin and Seth Green chronicling the CK's lives in New York. James St. James also wrote a book about his time as a Club Kid called,"Disco Bloodbath".

Comment on "A healthy Body Image"

So i just read Alessandra's post but I'm not sure I really feel that badly for Jessica Simpson.
I hadn't heard anything about her for months then all of a sudden in one week she's everywhere i turn. I guess it goes to show there's no such thing as bad publicity. I'm sure she'll end up being a spokes person for jenny craig or weight watchers and come back out on top.

While we're on the topic of Body image...
My Boss is over weight and she's the Aquatics Co ordinater aswell as an aquafit instructor. The Other morning she wasReplacing for an Aquafit class and some of the regular Aquafit ladies walked on to the pool deck and saw her infront of the class and said "oh is the class cancelled?" I told them it wasn't and that the instuctor was there and pointed to my boss the ladies then looked at each other and decided to leave. Donna teaches an excellent class but because she doesn't have the look of a fit woman, her class endded up being a quarter of the size of a normal aquafit class.
Zoe Anderson

I guess i'm trying to say it's not just the media who's putting such an emphasis on weight.

"He's Just not that into you!"

Ok so this past weekend I had the chance to see " He's just not that into you!" with valentines day coming up it would be the perfect date movie to see. It keeps the women entertained with all the love story parts and the men entertained with all the humor. I honestly loved the movie and it helped me give one of my best friends relationship advice. Basically she likes this guy but is too shy to tell him; he flirts with her all the time and even goes as far to make fun of her or make stupid little comments ( I know so high school)!! Basically she thinks she's not good enough for him and that if he really liked her he would say something. Im trying to explain to her that not all guys are forward and that a lot of them are just as shy as most women.

In the movie they talk about how women are either the rule or the exception. For example when a guy sleeps with you and does not call you back the next day ( a typical one night stand) you are the rule. However if he does call you back you are the exception!! She has it fixed in her mind that he's just not that into her and that she is the rule!!!!

Urgh... I dont know what else to say or do for her to understand that this is 2009, if women had to wait on men to do everything we wouldn't ever get anywhere!!!!
Sometimes men just need that extra push!!!!

NEW VIDEO - THE TING TINGS, WE WALK <3

Brief history of The Ting Tings:

Together, Jules and Katie have configured a sound that represents the pure heart of British pop. Driven by personality, unstoppable momentum, friendship and the love of great pop music - however stylised it arrives - The Ting Tings learnt to forget the attention to detail that they had slaved over in their previous band Dear Eskiimo and drove their new beast on raw adrenaline. It is littered through their debut album We Started Nothing; snappy choruses trade off against angular guitar work, whipsmart drumming and a succession of loops that they create live with the use of delay pedals. Half redolent of a thrusting girlband schooled at CBGBs and half informed by a post modern desire to break the codes of manufactured pop, their sound is immediately identifiable and purposefully perky.

This has been on my 'workout' playlist for quite some time but this is the new VIDEO for 'We Walk' and I REALLY love it. The concept is really great. I love the freeze framing and all her outfits are incredibly fierce, especially the feather capelet :)

Days with my daughter.

What to write about ? Let ‘s see, I will write about my daughter Kayla and my mornings and days with her. Kayla is three years old. Sometimes I feel like she's much older. I spent the mornings with her since I don’t spend very many nights with her since I started school. I try to spend as much time with her before I go to class if I’m not working,. I must say it’s a real challenge balancing, school, work and a toddler. My schedule is really busy. I only have one day to myself which is Saturday. On the days that I go to school, I keep her home with me so we can spend time playing with puzzles , watching movies, and dancing . Kayla loves to dance to the Beyonce videos. One song in paticular, put a ring on it. I love her so much, and even if I’m in school , I will always try my best to be the best mom that I can be.

"Campaign against Sarah Palin"

http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=271673 to view the Utube clip

On The View this morning there was a clip of a campaign that Ashley Judd was launching, to send awareness to all about the aeriel slaughterings going on in Alaska. Supported and encouraged by Sarah Palin, where she claims she is protecting against the decline of the Cariboo population, this campaign does not sit well with most. Where we are in the dead of winter and the wolves have nowhere to escape from the planes above, this is a traggic story of nowhere to go!!

« I have a dream » ,phrase célèbre, de Martin Luther King.

Rachel Papo photography

I stumbled upon this photographer's website and her work is incredible. I'm generally not too into photography but some if not most of the shots are just amazing... It seems surreal coming from a country like Canada.

Rachel Papo is an Israeli who was born in 1970 in the U.S. but was raised in Israel. She began photographing as a teenager and attended a renowned fine-arts high-school in Israel. Fifteen years after her mandatory military duty she returned to the Israeli Army as a photographer. These two years of service inspired her current photographic project titled after her own number during service -- Serial No. 3817131.

"At an age when social, sexual, and educational explorations are at their highest point, the life of an eighteen-year-old Israeli girl is interrupted. She is plucked from her home surroundings and placed in a rigorous institution where her individuality is temporarily forced aside in the name of nationalism. During the next two years, immersed in a regimented and masculine environment, she will be transformed from a girl to a woman, within the framework of an army that is engaged in daily war and conflict. She is now a soldier serving her country, in a military camp amidst hundreds like her, yet beneath the uniform there is someone wishing to be noticed, listened to, and understood."

You can view her entire photo project at: http://www.serialno3817131.com/index.html

no luck for cupid.

Working in a mall, is temptation at its best. Its a girls kingdom no doubt, but its a deadly sin for my poor little wallet. Unfortunetly, my job is located right in front of Lasenza, a women`s realm for the skimpy, the sexy and the padded. With Valentine`s approaching, of course the boustiers and the frimpiest undies make its way to the front of the store, leaving the single gals like myself woundering ``who the hell am i going to wear that for!``, so i havent even bothered to walk in. But to my despair, i couldnt escape it since a collegue forced me against my will, to help her find the redest and pinkest outfit for V-day. As i walked around, looking at the women frolicking over the satin and laced nighties, i woundered why i was even in this section.

i headed towards the back hoping for an exit or a fire alarm, but of course i was drawn to the tables of cute pyjamas and undergarments. A couple of minutes later, i was walking out with a bag full of stuff and felt very content with my purchases, comfy pjs, socks and some short shorts. As i walked past my colleague, who was still debating between black or pink for at least thirty minutes now, i couldnt help but realise that i had one less thing to even bother myself with. Valentines, no matter how lonely it can make some feel, it isnt about satisfying your significant other. this valentines, i decided to treat myself, because its ALL about satisfying yourself after all, right? ;) So when all else fails, you can sure count on mr.interac for a little a treat.

Photography at its Best!

Good day everyone,

First week of January, I was suppose to attend my friends wedding in the Caribbean but health issues held me back. I was on Facebook this week-end and I took a look at her pictures. All I have to say is the pictures were very nice she looked elegant and the scenery was spectacular. I wish I could of partaken in such a joyous event. I like the fact that the photographer did not just take random pictures, it was displayed like a story. I always enjoy looking at pictures even if I don't personally know the individuals. I took a photography class a while back but I didn't enjoy it. I hated all the work I had to do but for some reason, I truly enjoy the site of a photo. So let me talk about this photographer. The photographer was very creative from start to finish. He begin with a photo of the wedding dress excluding the bride and ended right at the hall with the bride releasing the bouquet. He makes you feel like your watching a story without words. The ingenious layout and precise imagery will get me to use him for my wedding one day. So I would like to share my friends photo's @ the following link http://www.bmkphotoblog.com/ BTW, their is more than one wedding posted. The first one is the right one. Scroll down to the end of the first wedding photo's to view the slide. Enjoy!

Looking forward to your feedback! :)
